Inheriting the home from their grandparents, siblings Carlos Fernandes and Vânia Brito Fernandes breathed new life into the property, transforming it into a breathtaking modernist sanctuary.
The Vision Behind Casa Modesta
Vânia, an architect and co-founder of PAr, a women-led design firm in Lisbon, spearheaded the renovation efforts. Her vision was to honor the home’s local roots while introducing modern elements. Together with her design partners, she created a layout that includes two distinct structures: one for guest rooms and another dedicated to communal spaces. Each of the nine guest rooms features its own private patio, offering a tranquil spot for relaxation.
